AJF EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM WIDELY COVERED BY THE MEDIA
AJF's educational program received unprecedented exposure in the press and on social media. Among others, it was covered in English and Armenian (Western and Eastern) in mainstream Armenian media like News.Am and Hayern Aysor, as well as Diasporan media outlets like Asbarez and Horizon. This followed other articles on the AGLA program in Armenia and the EGM initiative in Canada, such as CBC's RCI International interview discussing refugee vocational training and integration.
Industry media also covered recent activities. Jewellery Business Magazine published an article where AJF's training programs for the recent Syrian Armenian refugees was featured together with AJA Ontario's efforts to organize job fairs for newcomers. The magazine discussed these initiatives with AJA Ontario Chairman Mr. Apel Camgozlu.
Since January, AJF has already awarded 25 scholarships to Syrian Armenian expatriates, as well as students from Artsakh, Javakhk (Georgia) and Armenian border villages. The story of one girl, Nancy, is very telling and was covered in The Globe and Mail. AJF is now looking into new opportunities to expand its educational program.
